On the morning of November 13, 2025, the Party Committee of the School of Physical Science and Technology at Southwest Jiaotong University and the Party Committee of the School of Science at Tibet University held a Party-building joint learning and collaboration activity themed "Promoting the Spirit of Educators and Scientists, Bravely Undertaking the Mission of Building a Strong Nation" in Room X30323. The event was attended by members of the leadership teams and faculty representatives from both Party committees, and was presided over by Li Zhuohui, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Physical Science and Technology.
The activity began with a joint Party Day event centered on the same theme. Guo Jian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Physical Science and Technology, led the study of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on the spirit of scientists, the spirit of educators, and the construction of the teaching workforce. Participants collectively studied the scientist spirit of Academician Chen Nengkuan, a recipient of the "Two Bombs, One Star" Meritorious Medal, characterized by "dedicating oneself to the nation and overcoming challenges." They also learned about the advanced deeds of Academician Zhai Wanming, honored as "China’s Most Beautiful Teacher," in "deeply cultivating education and bravely undertaking missions." During the exchange session, all agreed on the importance of promoting the spirit of scientists and educators, staying true to the original aspiration of nurturing talents, courageously undertaking assault responsibilities, and achieving new accomplishments in their respective positions.
Following this, attendees engaged in discussions on various topics, including the construction of physics innovation laboratories, the co-establishment of a Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education, joint scientific research projects, teaching and research activities, and joint Party-building initiatives. Both sides reached consensus on multiple collaborations, and Jia Huanyu, Dean of the School of Physical Science and Technology, and Xu Penghui, Dean of the School of Science at Tibet University, signed a letter of intent for cooperation.
To conclude the activity, participants visited the Scientist Spirit Base at the Southwest Jiaotong University Locomotive Museum for practical study. This joint learning and building activity, structured around a three-dimensional learning model of "theoretical study + professional discussion + practical study," not only solidified the ideological foundation but also clarified the path for collaboration. It laid a solid foundation for deepening future cooperation between the two parties in integrating Party building with core work. Moving forward, the Party committees of the School of Physical Science and Technology and the School of Science at Tibet University will continue to promote the spirit of scientists and educators, facilitate resource sharing, complement each other’s advantages, and jointly contribute to the high-quality development of higher education and the building of a strong nation.
